Corporate Code of Conduct

Artemis Consulting follows guidelines for workplace performance that enforces key work ethics and severely discourages unethical, immoral, or illegal behavior.

Labor Practices

To ensure that Artemis Consulting follows consistent labor and employment policies, our Employment Guidelines clearly set forth our expectations. These Guidelines require, first, that our policies and actions are in full compliance with the laws and regulations of the respective countries in which we operate. In addition:

  • We communicate regularly with our employees and, whenever possible, partner with them to achieve desirable competitive outcomes
  • We operate so that support of, or opposition to, associations, does not impact an employee’s employment or an individual’s application for employment
  • Employees have the right to organize, join associations and bargain collectively, if they so choose. The company and its operating companies are required to bargain in good faith with these associations
  • It is not permitted to accept or condone any aspect of forced labor
  • The Company may not discriminate against any employee based on their ideological views, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other status protected by law
  • While the Company may counsel, and if necessary, discipline employees in connection with unacceptable behavior, physical punishment is not permitted
  • Employees choose to work for us at their own discretion. It is not permitted to force them to remain in our employ
  • We support, adhere to and must strictly enforce child labor laws

Human Rights

We demonstrate the value of human rights everywhere we do business by treating our employees and business associates with respect and dignity. We provide proper working conditions, wages, and hours to all workforce members and do not use child or prison labor. We feel strongly that our business associates (clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, suppliers, agents, partners, joint ventures, etc.) should support and encourage these principles wherever they operate.

Equal Employment Opportunity

We support and endorse principles and practices that promote fairness and equal employment opportunities for all employees within our diverse workforce.

We are committed to maintaining a workplace where the terms and conditions of employment are fair and non-discriminatory. It is the right of every employee to be treated with dignity and respect, within a work environment conducive to productivity, self-development and career advancement, regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, disability or conviction for an offence for which a pardon has been granted.

Employment equity is a vital component of our overall human resources strategy. Employment equity means identifying and eliminating barriers to employment opportunities that are accidental, unintentional or systemic. This is to ensure that individuals are hired, trained, developed, promoted and compensated according to their demonstrated performance, ability and potential. Human Resource policies are designed to be free of discriminatory or arbitrary barriers and are continually monitored to ensure the principles of employment equity are upheld.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining

Artemis Consulting will not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. Various federal, state and provincial laws may include additional protected categories. We do not tolerate verbal or physical conduct by any employee that harasses another employee or disrupts an employee’s work performance or creates an intimidating, offensive, abusive or hostile work environment. We do not tolerate unwelcome verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, including unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors. We help each other by speaking out when a co-worker’s conduct makes us uncomfortable. If we experience or observe workplace harassment, we will report the incident to our manager. We understand Artemis Consulting takes harassment claims seriously and will investigate them thoroughly. Artemis Consulting has zero tolerance for such conduct in the work environment.

We maintain a safe, respectful, and courteous working environment by not tolerating threatening, hostile, abusive, or violent behavior.

We strive to create an environment of respect for all individuals. We do not tolerate corruption, discrimination, harassment or forced or child labor in any form. We recognize that the manner in which our suppliers address human rights issues and risks in their own operations is also vitally important. We use information obtained in the procurement process to support supplier selection.

Artemis Consulting will not tolerate the use of child or forced labor, slavery or human trafficking in any of its operations, facilities and supply chain.

Diversity in the Workplace

We are proud to actively promote diversity in our work force and in the work forces of those with whom we do business. We show respect for and value individuals for their diverse backgrounds, experiences, styles, approaches and ideas. We rely upon diversity to inspire innovation that drives our business and helps enhance our competitive advantage and to help us make decisions that serve consumers in a broad spectrum of markets around the world. High performance companies have proven that embracing diversity is essential to achieving excellence.

We treat diversity and inclusion as a business imperative. Through sponsorships, contributions and participation in diverse communities, we demonstrate our commitment to inclusion and celebrating.

Business Code of Conduct

We hold to the highest standard the values, ethics and business conduct expected of Company employees in their dealings with the Company, customers, clients, vendors, contractors, volunteers, the public and fellow employees. Therefore Artemis:

  • endorses and promotes the Company’s commitment to honest and ethical behavior, including fair dealing and ethical handling of potential and actual conflicts of interest;

  • promotes compliance with applicable laws and governmental rules and regulations;
  • ensures the protection of the Company’s legitimate business interests, including corporate opportunities, use of corporate assets and confidential information; and

Bribery is a criminal offence. We do not, and will not, pay bribes or offer improper inducements to anyone for any purpose, nor do we or will we, accept bribes or improper inducements.

To use a third party as a conduit to channel bribes to others is a criminal offence. We do not, and will not, engage indirectly in or otherwise encourage bribery. We are committed to the prevention, deterrence and detection of bribery. We have zero tolerance towards bribery. We aim to maintain anti-bribery compliance “business as usual”, rather than as a one-off exercise.

Environmental Impact

Artemis recognizes that its business activities have a direct and indirect impact on the natural environment and is committed to reducing these impacts in a responsible manner. The development of sustainable business practice helps us to increase the efficiency of our operations and reduce our resource footprint.

In partnership with our customers, employees and suppliers, we are investing in energy efficient technologies, reducing waste and encouraging our stakeholders to think about the environmental impact of their decisions with the aim of reducing the resource footprint of our operations.
